The Ooredoo Qatar Major Premier Padel 2025, the first of the season’s four Majors, couldn’t have a more fitting finale: the world’s top two pairs — in both the men’s and women’s draws — will battle this Saturday for the crown in Doha. Expectations are sky-high, not only because of the clash between the best players on the planet, but also because it's been months since we last witnessed a true men's “classic” between Coello-Tapia and Galán-Chingotto. At the same time, the women’s game is offering its own rising rivalry, fast becoming the sport’s new classic: Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría — the most decorated duo in women’s padel history — will once again face the pair determined to take their throne this 2025 season, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea. The stage is set for high drama.

The day kicks off at 4:00 pm local time with the women’s final — the fourth time this year these two top pairs face each other. Both had to dig deep to book their ticket to the grand final. Gemma and Delfi came out like a whirlwind, blowing past Salazar-Virseda with a flawless first set to love. But far from being knocked out, their rivals regrouped by extending the rallies and took the match to a deciding third set via a tie-break. In the end, the attacking power and consistency of Gemma and Delfi proved decisive (6-0, 6-7, 7-1), earning them a place in their fifth straight final. They’re arriving with strong credentials: they haven’t lost a match since 16 February (Riyadh P1 semi-finals) and are on a three-title winning streak.

Waiting for them once again are world number ones Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría, defending champions in Qatar. Their composure and consistency in the crucial moments were key to overcoming Bea González and Claudia Fernández in a tough encounter (6-2, 5-7, 6-4). A marathon match between the world’s top-ranked pair and the number three seeds, it was once again Ari and Paula who prevailed. With just one title so far this year (Riyadh P1), they arrived in Doha intent on claiming the first Major of the season.

Following the women’s showdown — not before 6:00 pm — comes the men’s current “classic”: Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, world number ones and defending champions, versus Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto, who are in exceptional form and heading into their third consecutive final. ‘Chingalán’ battled past a spirited Paquito Navarro and Lucas Bergamini in two tightly contested sets, staging a comeback in the second to close out the match in style (6-3, 7-5).

Similarly, Coello and Tapia had earlier dispatched Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas with authority in the opening set, sealing their semi-final with a tighter second (6-2, 7-5) that featured some truly spectacular rallies fit for the highlight reels. The ‘Mozart’ and ‘King Arthur’ will now attempt to defend their crown in one of the sport’s most iconic arenas. On Saturday, the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex in Doha will decide the champions.
